먹다 to eat 먹거나
보다 to watch, see 보거나
예쁘다 to be pretty 예쁘거나
덥다 to be hot (weather) 덥거나
EXAMPLES
주말에는 보통 티비 보거나 자요.
On the weekend, I usually watch tv or sleep.
저는 보통 아침 안 먹거나 그냥 커피만 마셔요.
I usually don’t eat breakfast or just drink coffee.
가거나 말거나… 신경 안 써.
Either (you, they) go or not go… I don’t care.
~거나 말거나: used to show that you don’t care at all.
PAST TENSE: ~았/었거나
먹다 to eat 먹었거나
보다 to watch, see 봤거나
예쁘다 to be pretty 예뻤거나
덥다 to be hot (weather) 더웠거나

친구: 예진이 왜 밥 안 먹지?
Why is Yejin not eating?
나: 벌써 먹었거나 배 안 고프겠지, 뭐.
Either she ate or she’s not hungry, I guess. (뭐 is a filler used to soften your guess with less passion)
미나가 울고 있어요… 아마 남자친구랑 헤어졌거나 시험 잘 못 본 것 같아요.
Mina is crying… she probably broke up with her boyfriend or didn’t do well on the test, I think.

또는 is basically interchangeable with -(이)나
커피 또는 차 coffee or tea
과일 또는 채소 fruits or vegetables
N1 아니면 N2
아니면 = if not [아니다 to not be + ~(으)면 if]
커피 아니면 차 coffee or tea
과일 아니면 채소 fruits or vegetables
SENTENCE 1 아니면 SENTENCE 2
저는 보통 아침 안 먹어요. 아니면 그냥 커피만 마셔요.
I usually don’t eat breakfast. Or I just drink coffee.
V/ADJ 1~거나 아니면 V/ADJ 2
In colloquial language, people may add 또는 or 아니면 after ~거나. This is redundant and incorrect, but it is used pretty frequently. Remember this is only permitted in casual colloquial contexts.
저는 보통 아침 안 먹거나 아니면 그냥 커피만 마셔요.
I usually don’t eat breakfast or just drink coffee.
